Live from Days of Knowledge
19 October is Days of Knowledge--a celebration of education and research at the University of Borås. This year's Days of Knowledge is part of International Week and therefore has an international theme. The entire programme is conducted in English.
The afternoon begins with a lecture from Anna Troberg, the director of Wikimedia Sverige, the non-profit organisation being awarded the Social Media Prize this year by Sparbanksstiftelsen Sjuhärad.
There will also be a panel discussion on sustainable design in international perspective with contributions from Catarina Midby, Sustainability Manager at H&M, and Mariko Takahashi, international guest designer at the Swedish School of Textiles. The afternoon’s programme ends with sustainable development scholarship awards
On the event
The University of Borås, City of Borås, Sparbanksstiftelsen Sjuhärad, and Swedbank Sjuhärad stand for the event. During the evening, an event is arranged for specially-invited guests in which Sparbanksstifelsen Sjuhärad will award contributions to research projects as well as the Social Media Prize. The day is an offshoot from Sparbanksstiftelsen Sjuhärad's traditional gala in which they award prizes within sport, culture, and education in the region of Sjuhärad.
This year’s Days of Knowledge is also a part of Globala Borås, a collaboration between City of Borås, Borås Energi och Miljö, Boras Waste Recovery, the University of Borås, and assistance authority Sida. The purpose of Globala Borås is to raise global questions in a local arena.
