Institution exchange for the ArcInTexETN PhD students

In the beginning of September, Sara Lundberg, Ramyah Gowrishankar, Svenja Keune, Juste Peciulyte and Ana Pineyro arrived at the University of Borås. They are all PhD students within the ArcInTexETN project with their principal placement at one of the other institutions or companies within the project. Now, they have moved to Borås in order to pursue their PhD studies for four months.

‘The ArcInTexETN project is treading new ground as we are introducing a cross-disciplinary training network connecting the fields of design, textile, interaction design and architecture’, says network manager Agneta Nordlund Andersson.‘Therefore, the fact that the PhD students are doing secondments is one of the cornerstones of the project. We want them to move to other countries in order to assimilate the knowledge of the new country, as well as contribute with their own knowledge to others.’

The five PhD students will stay in Borås for four months and then move back to their principal institution or company. In the autumn of 2017, there will be another secondment period in which other PhD students will come to Borås.

This autumn, the following PhD students will be at the University of Borås (their primary placement follows in parenthesis):

  • Sara Lundberg (Academy of Arts, Vilnius)
  • Ramyah Gowrishankar (Universität der Künste, Berlin)
  • Svenja Keune (Svensson AB, Kinna)
  • Juste Peciulyte (Academy of Arts, Vilnius)
  • Ana Pineyro (Royal College of Art, London
