Sofie's work, entitled Performing Knits, seeks to emphasise the role of knitting in performance by designing changeability in knitted surface and -form. Through movement, the pieces reveal a change in colour, pattern and form. The work is carried out through practice-based research where the performative potential of the collection is explored in the context of contemporary dance. During the performance, the knits perform themselves through their changeable qualities placing textile as a co-performer with the human.
