H2020 application writing get-together on Nov 17-18

On November 17 and18, seventeen participants from eight different organizations (both from academia and industry) and five different countries came together for a two day collaborative meeting held within the Strategic Research Program in Data Science. The meeting was jammed packed with presentations of cutting edge research and brainstorming in finding mutual areas of interest.

These meetings were very productive where at the end of these, two major international collaborative project ideas were solidly in place and major work has already started in formulating applications for external funding related to each of these. The first application is going to be on Confident machine-learning modelling of drug safety, directed at Marie Curie ITN and planned to be submitted already in January 2016. The second application will also be directed at H2020 funding, this time for a Research and Innovation action and relates to a project on Virtual Museums and Social Platform, bringing together competencies from a wide range of different but complementary research areas including cultural heritage, virtual and augmented reality, story-led interpretation, and more. The deadline for this submission is February 4, 2016, so the group members are expected to have a very intensive couple of months ahead.
