Functions on the Personal start page
Here you can learn about the different functions that you get access to when you log in the Personal start page.
In the messages area, there are primarily direct information from your manager (or another manager higher up). The idea is that these messages will reduce the number of emails sent and allow for all current information to be gathered in one place. Perhaps your manager has previously sent a weekly email to the entire department? Now the message area on the website is the natural place to find that information. There are also university-wide and department-wide announcements to all employees. You can also find messages for you in your role as a manager, teacher, researcher or doctoral student.
New feature (December 2022): choose which messages to see
It is now possible to personalise your message feed further by choosing which messages you wish to see from other organisational units or roles to which you aren’t automatically assigned. For example, you can choose to see messages intended for researchers, even if you are not a researcher yourself, or to see messages for a Faculty you work closely with, even if you work at a different Faculty.
When you log in to your personal start page, click on the gear symbol above the message feed; select the messages you wish to view and click the save button at the bottom of the list.
In the news feed, you automatically receive university-wide employee news articles. You can customise it yourself so that, in the same place, you can see e.g. external news articles, University Library news articles, or news articles for employees at your Faculty/unit.
Click on the gear symbol in the news block when you're signed in to choose which news feeds you want to access.
In the calendar, you automatically see university-wide employee events. You can customise it yourself so that, in the same place, you can see e.g. external events, research events, or events for employees at your Faculty/unit.
Click on the gear symbol in the calendar block when you're signed in to choose which events you want hear about.
Current operations information has been increased and brief information about upcoming or emergency operational disruptions in university systems and premises is now shown together. This can mean information about the upcoming maintenance of a certain system or information about the garage being cleaned.
Important operations information can be displayed at the top of the employee website, and updated operations information will be provided in the operations information block a bit farther down.
You can create a list of quick links to the tools/systems you use most often.
Click on the gear symbol under My tools to choose which tools/systems you want in your list. You can also adjust the order of these tools yourself if you don't want them sorted alphabetically.
You are able to add colleagues whose contact information you wish to be able to find quickly to a separate list.
Under My colleagues, click the + button to search for and add the colleagues you want to the list. Under My colleagues, click on the gear symbol to remove a colleague from the list or adjust the order.
You can create a list of favourite webpages from hb.se. Here, for example, you can create quick links to webpages you visit often or to a news article you want to remember to read later.
Click on the star in the breadcrumb trail on a hb.se webpage to mark it as a favourite. Click on Favourites in the expandable tab to open the list of your favourites. The gear in the My favourites list gives you the option to remove webpages you no longer want to have marked as favourites.
