I hope you feel welcome to your new workplace. You have come to a university at the forefront that focuses on its students and employees.
Here you have the opportunity to broaden your views, make new contacts and help us develop an already prominent higher education institution. Regardless of organisational affiliation, I want you to feel able to influence and contribute to the university’s development. We work for being a welcoming, ”close” university, regardless of whether it is between students and teachers, colleagues, or between management and employees. Together we can challenge and develop our activities to achieve results.
For us at the University of Borås, it is important that our students’ education give them an academic foundation and at the same time leads to employment. We assume the concept that theory and practice are two intertwined perspectives that enrich each other – in other words Science for the professions. With this as a starting point, we work towards becoming the third university in western Sweden. Read more about our objectives and visions here.
As a new employee, there are probably many questions and concerns about how things work and who you can turn to. I hope that you feel that your colleagues can help you, so do not hesitate to ask a colleague or your supervisor if there is something you are thinking about.
Again, a warm welcome to us!
Birgitta Alfraeus, Director of HR
