A step ahead in the public library.

Public library work in Sweden has become more complex due to, for example, changes in user groups and increasing and new expectations concerning the libraries’ supply and services. The overarching question for the project that is presented in this seminar is how public librarians keep up to date and develop knowledge about things they think they need to know in order to do a good job. Based on analyses of empirical data comprising 800 answered questionnaires and 10 interviews with public librarians, the seminar aims at discussing salient themes and tentative results that will be presented in a future journal article.
