In the days following the conference, we invite you to experience a bit more of Sweden. To make such excursions easy and accessible, we have put together a few guided tours specifically for iConference participants.

Some activities are still in the planning stages, but we post them now to help you plan your trip.

Day tour to Gothenburg libraries

  • Friday March 27, 2020: Gothenburg libraries
Curious to see what Swedish libraries look like and learn about how they operate? On the day following the iConference, we will arrange a visit to some of Gothenburg’s libraries, including the University of Gothenburg Library and Chalmers University of Technology Library. We will travel together by public transport (comfortable busses and trains) to Gothenburg, Sweden’s second largest city, located on the west coast about an hour from Borås. In Gothenburg we will take trams and ferries between various libraries where we will enjoy guided tours. The trip will also allow participants to see parts of Gothenburg and those who like can have some time to explore the city on their own.

The tour will last from approximately 8.30 am to 5 pm. Price: ca 350 SEK + pay for your own lunch.

If you have any questions please contact us via e-mail: iconf2020@hb.se.

Sign up for this tour before or on March 16.

Visit to the University of Borås library

  • Wishing to visit the University of Borås Library? Don’t worry, we will arrange a guided tour there as well during the conference! It is only two minutes from the conference venue.

Afternoon art experiences in Borås

In the afternoon on the final day of the conference we plan to organize two guided tours to help participants experience some of the best art in Borås:

  • Thursday March 26, 2020, afternoon: Street art guided walk
Experience the street art created as part of the art festival No Limit Borås. The art is scattered around the city. A guided outdoors tour of ca 60 minutes will provide you with a better understanding of the artworks and help you find the more out-of-the-way murals.

The guided tour will take place 1.30-2.30 pm.
UPDATE: The guided walk will be free of charge to iConference participants courtesy of the City of Borås.

If you have any questions please contact us via e-mail: iconf2020@hb.se.

Sign up for this tour before or on March 16.
