In an ever more globalised world, it is more important than ever to pay attention to what is happening outside of one’s own sphere. As an institution of higher learning, we are dependent upon internationalisation and international collaboration in order for our organisation to work and maintain high quality. By turning our attention to other parts of the world, we gain knowledge and experiences that we did not previously have: we find new perspectives.
At the Swedish School of Library and Information Science, we work actively with internationalisation in our educational programmes, research, and organisational structures. We study global questions in our educational programmes and research. We see how the quality of our institution increases through employees’ and students’ receiving new perspectives through their own and others’ international experiences, or when those from other countries and cultures come to us. And what happens in the world around us affects our organisation to a high degree.
Under “THEME: Internationalisation” we present a selection of what we do that has international overtones.
