The proportion of older people in the world is steadily rising, particularly in Sweden and Europe. While this is good news, it is also a challenge for society as a whole. An important part of what we see as problematic with this aging, both for individuals and socioeconomically, is, however, not aging itself but the illnesses that accompany it.
