On 14 September, Spacerpad was featured in the morning session of a popular radio program in the regional public service radio channel P4 Sjuhärad, covering the Borås region. Starting from the issue of period poverty that is experienced by a large portion of the women in the world, Karin Högberg presented the Spacerpad as product that can provide safe and sustainable sanitary protection. She presented the aim of the project is to build capacity to manufacture and distribute the reusable sanitary pad within a couple of years. The ongoing project includes continued development of the product and appropriate methods of manufacturing. During this year a user test comparing the Spacerpad with a current model of reusable sanitary towel is planned to be conducted in Kenya in partnership with the Swedish NGO, ERIKS Development Partner (Erikshjälpen) and their partner I Choose Life – Africa in Kenya.
