I am an associate professor of Library and Information Science. My main research interests are local and regional cultural policy against the backdrop of globalization processes. In several research projects, I have primarily explored how local and regional public administration deal with increased political autonomy in the cultural policy field. When I teach, it is mostly about cultural policy, but also about research methods.

Ever since 1995, when I was first employed by the University of Borås, I have aimed at contributing to the development of a cultural policy research infrastructure, nationally as well as internationally. Because of this interest, I have contributed to establishing two scholarly open access journals in the research field, and, 2012-2020, I was the chair of The International Conference of Cultural Policy Research (ICCPR) Scientific Committee. The ICCPR is a biannual research conference, organized in collaboration with The International Journal of Cultural Policy Research (Routledge). It is also due to this interest that I currently work both as analyst at the Swedish Agency for Cultural Policy Analysis (www.kulturanalys.se) and senior lecturer at the Swedish School of Library and Information Science. For the next three years, my research is mainly concentrated to the Horizon 2020-project Acting on the Margins – Art as Social Sculpture (AMASS).
