The course give in depth understanding for fibers and yarn spinning and how these affect the properties of the finished textile. Through digital lectures you prepare for the lab. At the yarn lab you will get to see and feel different types of fibers and understand how their surface structure affect the spinning process and finished textile product. Ring spinning and its preparatory steps (opening, carding and drafting) is shown and performed practically. Properties of fibers and yarn is tested and is put in relation to textile processes.
