KNITTING PRINCIPLES creates form
Year 2021

In the field of interior design, textiles are often used for upholstery or to hide materials that we see as ugly and not suitable for our living. Textiles are therefore also sometimes shaped by hard mate-rials such as wood, metal, etc. KNITTING PRINCIPLES creates form aims to let both the knitted textiles and other soft materials to dictate the shaping of the design. By using a concept of knitting principles, it is possible to create forms in different scales, materials and expressions.

The work aims to incorporate knowledge sharing and focus on democratic design. The physical part of the project consists of a series of textile objects that can be interacted with by the viewer or a user. The user has the opportunity to change the use and how the form appears.
