This project explores collage as a fashion design method by translating the principles (layering, contrast, scale, playfulness) of two-dimensional collage into the construction and material development of three-dimensional garments.
This degree work has a design philosophy of bringing the naive, playful aspect of two-dimensional collage into every phase of fashion design. Mainly focusing on silhouette and finishings, using artistic handicrafts, such as bead embroidery, material manipulation, laser cutting, and needle-felting as collage components.
