Meet the Ministry

Meet the Ministry

The Dance Company invited young people to collaborate with dancers casted for the Ministry of Unresolved Feelings dance performance. Thorough exploration of contemporary dance choreography creation and contemporary dance production challenges, delivered in series of workshops, participants are also invited to engage in collaborative digital storytelling in order to share their impressions about the whole process.

Not only that the participants of the Meet the Ministry project meet the modern dance form, the idea of the project is also to invite participants to share their unresolved feelings with the Dance Company in some way. That material is to be collected, stored, and used by Jø Stromgren, the choreographer of Ministry of the Unresolved Feelings play, as the inspiration for creating the play that is booked for April 2019. Once the two institutions met, the new idea was born. Having the core idea of the Meet the Ministry project to understand how millennials think about the modern dance, and learn from them what kind of communication practices they would like to have with modern dance, through the collaboration with The Swedish School of Library and Information Science the project idea is changed in order to provide young participants with their everyday communication channel - the digital communication. Finally, two institutions greed to look at the whole process through scientific lenses and see if this project could be a potential solution for social innovation in order to reclaim the conversation with our youngest.
