Kamran Rousta will be the new Head of Professional Services

Kamran Rousta is currently Head of Department of the Department of Resource Recovery and Building Technology. He will take up the position of Head of Professional Services on 1 May and the scope of the employment will be 95 percent of full-time.

“I’m glad to have the new Head of Professional Services in place. It is extra gratifying that it is someone who knows the university's strengths and challenges as well as Kamran does,” said Vice-Chancellor Mats Tinnsten.

Recruitment process

In the autumn of 2025, recruitment of a new Head of Professional Services at the University of Borås began. The Vice-Chancellor appointed a recruitment group consisting of the Vice-Chancellor, the Pro-Vice-Chancellor, the Director of HR, as well as union representatives and the Student Union.

To support the recruitment work, an external recruitment consultant was hired. In total, there were 23 applicants for the position. After the selection process, which was carried out by the recruitment consultant and reported to the Vice-Chancellor, the recruitment group met with three candidates for an initial interview. The two candidates who were deemed to best meet the requirements profile continued to another interview with three directors of departments within Professional Services as well as one Dean of Faculty.

After speaking with references and discussions with the recruitment group and the interview group, the Vice-Chancellor decided to name Kamran Rousta as Head of Professional Services.
