Yes! It’s not a requirement to register popular science outreach, but it’s great to have.
Yes! The university’s policy is that everything you publish should be registered in DiVA, and conference posters count as publications.
At the top right corner of each DiVA post you will find the text “link to post”. If you click it, you get two versions of a shortened link compared to the address that’s in your browser. If you copy either of them, you can easily share the DiVA post! (In this context there is no difference between the two types of links.)
Contact diva@hb.se and we will help you import outputs from previous universities. It will go faster if you have something like an EndNote library with your own publications you can send us, or if you can export files from previous publication databases. However, we can help you get your outputs registered even if you don’t have anything like that.
Every university that is part of the DiVA consortium has their own instance of DiVA where they register their outputs. Articles with co-authors at different universities with DiVA will be registered at each university. These will then show up as duplicates in the national DiVA portal (https://www.diva-portal.org/). There are plans to update the system so that the national portal only shows one post per publication
The publication lists on the research group pages are generated through searches in DiVA for “research group”. If someone forgets to add the name of the research group in that field at registration, the search won’t be able to find it. The same thing is true if there’s a typo in the entered name, or if the search is for the Swedish name and the research group name entered is in English. Some research group pages search for publications by those authors who are part of the group. If you have new members in your research group, you must contact the Communication department at kommunikation@hb.se so that they can update the search to include them.
Files have to be checked by a librarian before they’re published in the online version of DiVA. This can take up to one working week. It’s also possible that you uploaded a file that we cannot publish in DiVA for copyright reasons.
To show up on the proifle page, an output has to be connected to your authority post (signature). You do this when you register posts in DiVA yourself by clicking the “connect authority post” button. If you forget to do this, the librarian checking the post in DiVA will do it for you, and then the output will show up.
The following publication types are shown on your profile page:
Artistic output
Book & book chapter
Reports & Collection (editor)
Licenciate & PhD theses
Anything marked as refereed, no matter the publication type
If your output is of the publication type “Other” or some other type not included in this list, it won’t be shown automatically. Contact the communication department at kommunikation@hb.se to get a customized publication view.
The profile page only shows the most recent posts. If you are wondering why an older post isn’t showing up, it may simply have been replaced by your newer outputs.
Make sure the DOI has been entered properly. It should start with “10”, and not “doi.org/” or similar.
It can take a while for the journal to “activate” a DOI. If it is still not working after a week ro so after publication, it could be due to an error on the journal’s part. In that case, you will need to contact them about it.
