In solidarity with Ukraine

The University of Borås stands in solidarity with Ukraine’s higher education institutions and civilian population and endorses the statements of solidarity with Ukraine made by the Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions (or SUHF for its Swedish name, Sveriges universitets- och högskoleförbund) and the European University Association (EUA).

“That a nation with superior gun power could attempt to subjugate another sovereign nation was something that I thought we had left to history. Has history not demonstrated quite clearly what enormous suffering this brings, in particular for the civilian population? In that light, we must condemn Russian military aggression against Ukraine and, in every way possible, assist and support the Ukrainian people,” said Mats Tinnsten, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Borås.

If you are a Ukrainian citizen and have applied for asylum in Sweden, or a citizen of EU/EEA or Switzerland, you can apply in our general admission round. Some of our study programmes can also be open for late admissions. You can apply for crediting on previous courses by contacting the Study Counsellor of the programme you are interested in.

No, applicants that have a residence permit in Sweden for other reasons than studies are exempted from paying tuition fees. However, you are required to provide documentation to prove your status for your application to be processed. The residence permit under EU’s Temporary Protection Directive must be issued in Sweden to free anyone from paying tuition fee.
