She is the winner of the Global Design Graduate Show

Emma Gudmundson graduated from the Fashion Design programme in spring 2020. Now her degree collection Floats has been selected as the winning entry in the category "Knit and Weave."

How does it feel to win?

“It feels so exciting! That a jury has seen my work and liked it has given me a real boost.”

Tell us about your collection called Floats.

“My collection explores the effect of lines, flotation, and colours in relation to the body. This is done by using the knitting machine as the main tool in both sketch work and to produce the finished garments. The result is a colourful collection that shows a new way to create zero-waste garments.”

You graduated last spring; what are you doing now?

“Right now I work full time and knit whenever I have time. My plans are to start my own business so I can start selling my creations.”
