A total of 13 new doctorate recipients and two honorary doctors were promoted, one professor was installed. During the ceremony, the university also presented achievement awards to recipients of the merit docent. Speakers were Vice-Chancellor Mats Tinnsten, Professor Elisabeth Lindberg, Honorary Doctor Anne Ludvigson, Chair of the Artistic Research and Education Board Hanna Landin and the Student Union's representative Amanda Johansson. Pro-Vice-Chancellor Kim Bolton and student representative Natascha Dybeck awarded the Pedagogical Prize to Malin Utter.

Students from the Academy of Music and Drama at the University of Gothenburg and the choir Gaudium performed music and after the ceremony, everyone gathered to mingle and enjoy refreshments. A banquet was also held for ceremony participants and invited guests.
