Time for the next step in the recruitment of a new Vice-Chancellor

Advertising of the position of Vice-Chancellor at the university will take place during August–September, but you as a university employee can already now submit your suggested candidates.

"You don't have to send the person's CV or even tell them that you are nominating them. It is enough that you submit their name and contact information to our recruitment agency no later than 24 August and they will contact the person in question to see if there is any interest," explained Birgitta Alfraeus, Director of HR at the University of Borås.

The application period starts in week 33 and closes on 6 September.

In October, the recruitment team will interview candidates together with the recruitment agency, after which the panel interview (hörandet in Swedish) will be scheduled for mid-November. The composition of the three panels (teaching staff, other employees, students) will be decided in the autumn.

“The panel interview has an important advisory function for me and the rest of the recruitment team, even though it is not a step in the selection process itself.  My intention is that at this stage there will be a proposed candidate whom we have the opportunity to hear feedback on from employees and students.  It also gives the candidate the opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of the assignment and the university based on the questions asked," explained Anna Nilsson-Ehle, Chair of the Governing Board of the University of Borås and also Chair of the recruitment team.

"The ambition is that at the board meeting in December, we will make a decision on a candidate to recommend to the Swedish Government. Our hope is that the person will then be able to take up the post on 1 July 2027,” concluded Anna Nilsson-Ehle.
