New academic staff representatives confirmed for the Board

The Chair of the Nominating Committee, Birgitta Wallin, said:

“A total of 18 nominations were initially submitted, of which two candidates later withdrew their candidacies. Of the remaining candidates, five belonged to category A1, four to A2, six to A3 and one to A4. Many of the candidates were highly qualified and competent, which made it difficult to select three ordinary members and two deputies. In the previous election round there were seven candidates. There has naturally been some discussion about why we had more than twice as many candidates on this occasion. Most likely, this reflects the fact that the University faces many important issues in the period ahead.”

Voter turnout was higher than last time, but still low (17 per cent of those eligible to vote).
