Higher seminar in Business Administration
Welcome to this seminar on Orchestrating the Digital Product Passport (DPP) Ecosystem for Circular Fashion Retail (discussion of research application idea)
Presenter: Olga Chkanikova, PhD, Senior Lecturer
Abstract:
Implementing the EU Digital Product Passport (DPP) is crucial for advancing circular strategies in fashion retail. Current business, policy, and research efforts mainly focus on data and technological requirements for compliance, while overlooking the need to incentivize and enable collaborative datasharing and integration across business networks to scale circular innovation.
This project addresses this gap by exploring how DPP ecosystems can be orchestrated to support mutual value co-creation through data exchange and ensure effective data integration for implementing circular strategies in fashion retail. In doing so, the project focuses on repositioning the DPP from being perceived by the retail industry as a regulatory compliance challenge to becoming a joint business opportunity that drives pre-competitive industry collaboration, facilitates inter-organizational circular fashion innovation, and contributes to sustainable industry growth.
Olga: I would like to use the seminar to share my ideas and explore opportunities to collaborate with others on this topic, with possibility to scale application to other bigger funders. Any feedback on the text (it is not that extensive, just 10 pages) and ideas for potential funders are welcome.
Note: If you attend and would like to receive her application, please send Olga or Nicklas a request by email.
