Selection and interview
When the application period has ended, we make a selection based on the relevant requirements profile. We make this selection based on which candidates best match the requirements when it comes to the education, experience, and competence specified in the advertisement. If you are among those who are best qualified, you will be invited to an initial interview.
Longer process for teaching positions
The recruitment process for teaching positions follows the same principles as other types of employment, but the process looks a little different and takes longer because it often also includes expert assessment and review by the Academic Appointment Committee.
According to the University of Borås’s Appointments Procedure, teaching positions include Professor (incl. guest, assistant, adjunct and adjunct assistant), Senior Lecturer (incl. assistant and adjunct) as well as Lecturer (incl. adjunct).
You always receive a response
Anyone who has applied for a job with us will receive a response. If you have been here for an interview, we will usually call you; otherwise, you will receive a message by email. Recruitment normally takes 2-12 months, depending on the type of position.
If you do not succeed in an application, you are always welcome to create a job subscription and monitor the areas you are interested in. You will then receive relevant ads sent to your email.
Offer and employment
If you are offered the position, you will be contacted to come to an agreement on the terms of employment and start date.
During your first period as a new employee, you will be introduced to your workplace. You will also receive a digital introductory training where you will gain general knowledge about what a government employment at the University of Borås entails and what you need to consider.
Decision on employment
Decisions on employment are made public on the University of Borås’s notice board in T6 stairwell (Balder building). In some cases, it is possible to appeal a decision regarding a government authority’s employment decision.
