Students tell us
Master’s Programme in Fashion Marketing and Management, field study with eye tracking
Chieh-Liang Chang, a student in the Master’s Programme in Fashion Marketing and Management, carried out his field study in collaboration with the Digital Business Lab and Varnamo of Sweden.
“Through an eye tracking study, I came to realise how much user behaviour is often unconscious, yet highly influential in shaping how information is perceived. It also strengthened my belief in human-centred design, where design is guided not only by aesthetics, but by how people actually see, think, and interact with information. This is especially important in the fashion industry, where consumer behaviour is highly driven by perception and emotion.” (2026)
Master’s Programme in Textile Value Chain Management, consultancy field study
Alona Anderson, a student in the Master’s Programme in Textile Value Chain Management, carried out her consultancy field study in collaboration with the Digital Business Lab and Varnamo of Sweden.
“Working together with the Digital Business Lab has been a valuable part of my field study journey. Their guidance, feedback and support have contributed greatly to the development and progress of the project.
I especially appreciated our regular Monday meetings, which provided an opportunity to step away from my own research and gain insights into the work of other students. Hearing different perspectives, ideas and approaches helped broaden my understanding and often provided new ways of thinking about my own project. The collaborative environment also created opportunities to support each other throughout the process, whether through discussions, feedback sessions, interviews or eye-tracking tests.
Overall, the experience has been both inspiring and rewarding and it has highlighted the value of collaboration, knowledge sharing and learning from others throughout the research process.” (2026)

“It was insightful to learn EU regulations on textile sustainability and how small companies can implement them despite limited resources and operational challenges. The Digital Business Lab provided the opportunity to collaborate with a Swedish SME and develop a framework for evaluating and selecting textile suppliers based on their social and environmental practices while ensuring compliance with EU regulations. This collaboration has given the opportunity to work on real-world business cases and offered a deeper understanding of the challenges companies face in meeting their social and environmental responsibility.” (2026)
