Faculty of Textiles, Engineering and Business (including The Swedish School of Textiles)
— Department of Resource Recovery and Building Technology
At the Faculty of Textiles, Engineering and Business, Pooria serves as Associate Professor in Polymer Technology. His research focuses on sustainable polymer engineering, with particular emphasis on material recovery, circular material solutions, and advanced composite systems.
His work integrates the development, characterization, and structural modelling of bio-based and recycled polymer composites for semi-structural applications. Special attention is given to bio-based fibers, recycled thermoplastics, and bio-based polymers, aiming to enhance material performance while reducing environmental impact.
Research Areas
Sustainable Polymer Engineering and Circular Materials
This research area focuses on the valorization of recycled polymers, such as PET plastics, and post-industrial textile waste into high-value polymer components and composite structures. Emphasis is placed on mechanical recycling, property evolution during reprocessing, and the design of circular materials for long-term structural performance.
Process Simulation of Polymeric and Composite Systems
This research area addresses numerical modelling and simulation of thermoplastic polymer processing, particularly injection moulding. Experimental investigations are integrated with advanced simulation tools, such as Moldex3D, to analyze flow behavior, thermal history, crystallization, shrinkage, and their influence on final part performance.
