Swedish Language Courses

These courses are only available to foreign students enrolled in another course or programme at the University of Borås.

Application procedure

The application procedure should be made through TransIT (external link) for exchange students and universityadmissions.se (external link)  for other students. See Programmes and courses. This also applies to late applications.

Re-registration

Students who were registered previous semesters cannot re-apply for the same course. They may, however, ask the course administrator at the course start for re-registration if there are any places available for repeat study. 

Tuition fees

No tuition fees are requested for any student.

Swedish as a Foreign Language - Beginning Course (7,5 ECTS)


Spring 2018

The course starts on Friday 19 January at 1 pm, and ends in the middle of March. All admitted and attending students will be divided into smaller groups. The schedule is preliminary:

  • Group 1: Mondays at 5-7.30 pm and Fridays at 1-3.30 pm
  • Group 2: Tuesdays at 5-7.30 pm and Thursdays at 5-7.30 pm

  • Schedule code in KronoX: 10SF11

Late application will be possible to 25 January. Please read above for more information on late application. All admitted students will receive an admission letter with information by email (provided "home email address") ~one week before the course starts.

After admission, all students must register to confirm at LADOK. 

Examinations will preliminary be held in the middle of March.

Swedish as a Foreign Language - Continuation Course (7,5 ECTS)


Spring 2018

The course is for foreign students with previous knowledge of the Swedish language as introduced in the course for beginners. Instruction is mainly conducted through lectures, individual exercises, and seminars.

The course starts on Monday 26 March at 5 pm.
The lectures will preliminary be held Mondays and Thursdays from 5-7:30 pm.

The student must have been registered to the course Swedish as a Foreign Language – Beginning Course, 7.5 ECTS credits before admission to the Continuation Course. The course will be open for late application to 26 March. All admitted students will receive an admission letter with information by email (provided "home email address") ~one week before the course starts. There is limited enrolment.

After admission, all students must register to confirm at LADOK.

Examinations will preliminary be held in the middle of May.

Your transcript of record can be printed out from the Ladok (or requested at Student Reception) after you have finished a course to use at your home university.
