Course catalogue

The University of Borås offers courses to exchange students at the Bachelor's as well as Master's level.

How to apply

Incoming exchange students apply through our online application system called TransIT. Please note that you must be nominated by your home university in order to apply.

All documents uploaded in your application must be issued in English.

Nomination deadlines

Autumn Semester: 15 April
Spring Semester: 15 October

Application deadlines

Autumn Semester: 1 May
Spring Semester: 1 November

Please respect the application deadlines. If we receive your application after 1 May/1 November, you may only be granted admission if there are study spots available and you meet the entry requirements.

Admission letters are issued to admitted students at the end of May/November.

English Proficiency

Since the language of instruction and course literature for exchange students is English, the students need sufficient English language skills. The faculties require that the applying students submit documents that prove their proficiency in English equivalent to B2 level (i.e. TOEFL test or a language of instruction certificate from your university). The B2 level is basic and some study programmes may have special requirements. Please contact the International Office if you have any questions.

IELTS: An overall mark of 6.5 and no section below 5.5
TOEFL (paper based): A score of 4.5 in a written test and a total score of 575
TOEFL (internet based):
A score of 20 in a written test and a total score of 90
An overall mark of 775

All admitted exchange students will receive an admission letter sent from our application system TransIT in late May or late November. Once you have been admitted, you should start preparing for your upcoming stay in Sweden.
