Alumnus on visit to initiate research collaboration

What have you been up to since you were last here?

"I returned to Cuba and completed my master's degree. Then I moved to Mexico for my doctoral studies and then I became a postdoctoral fellow at Tecnologico de Monterrey. Today I am a professor there on the Tecnologico de Monterrey in Guadalajara campus and supervise five doctoral students."

How come you are here now?

"I am here to discuss with my old supervisors in biotechnology about possible collaborations between Tecnologico de Monterrey and the University of Borås regarding biotechnology, such as exchanges with PhD students and researchers and to establish collaborations in research projects between Sweden and Mexico."

Mohammad Taherzadeh, professor and research leader for research in biotechnology commented:

"We have good relations with Mexico, but no established cooperation yet. This visit could open up the possibility of cooperation between Sweden and Mexico in Resource Recovery."
