International conference gathers the cutting-edge of textile biotechnology

This is the first conference of its kind in Sweden, and the foremost experts in the field of fibre and polymer biotechnology are expected to come to Borås.

"For the university, it means a lot to host a conference of this kind that is so specialized in the field. We get the opportunity to show our competence in textile biotechnology for international stakeholders, enabling new collaborations," said Sina Seipel, Senior Lecturer, who is part of the conference's organizing committee.

In addition to showing the university's own research, it is also an opportunity for Borås City and the region to demonstrate the strength in textile and textile technology within an international context.

The conference will take place on 12–14 November and is aimed at researchers and other interested parties.

The conference is organized by the research group in Textile Material Technology at the Swedish School of Textiles, University of Borås. The research group is led by Vincent Nierstrasz, professor in textile materials technology, one of the world's most influential researchers in textile technology with cutting-edge expertise in the field of fiber and polymer biotechnology.
