Algae membrane bioreactor as a method for biogas purification and upgrading

The project aims to develop an optimized biological process to purify biogas from H2S and remove CO2 from biogas produced during the digestion of substrates with high sulfur content.

A bioreactor with membrane technology and microalgae will be applied in the project. The aim is to produce three product streams from the process: a stream rich in oxygen, a stream rich in methane (purified and with a low proportion of CO₂), and algae biomass. This project is important since it studies methods that can be used to produce purified methane gas biologically and to
