Gustaf Juell-Skielse is a professor of information systems. His research focuses on digital innovation, service automation, and enterprise information systems. He has worked with private companies as well as public sector organizations. He has published more than 50 peer-reviewed academic articles Google Scholar, two textbooks, one edited book and a handful of popular articles presenting his research. He received a PhD in computer and systems sciences from Stockholm University in 2011 and a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering from the Royal Institute of Technology in 1989.  

Gustaf has a long experience as a project leader for research as well as business development projects. He is the Director for the Center for Digitalization at the University of Borås and the project leader for developing Techarena Borås. He has led large international research projects, as well as small, focused research projects. In addition, he has fifteen years of experience as a management consultant with Accenture and Acando where he primarily worked with services for corporate strategies and change leadership. 

Gustaf received best paper awards for the papers Measuring the Effect of Using Digital Innovation Contests as Policy Tools at ICEGOV 2022, and Design of an Open Social e-Service for Assisted Living at EGOV 2010. He is associate editor for Communications of the Association of Information Systems and received the best reviewer award in 2017. Moreover, he is the secretary of the Region 2 board for the Association for Information Systems as well as the President for the Swedish Academy for Information Systems in 2023. 

He was the main supervisor for Elin Uppström (defended in 2016) and Workneh Ayele (defended in 2022).
