My current research interests are the recovery of nutrients from food processing wastes/by-products, microbial production (Protein-rich fungal biomass as animal feed or food, Polyhydroxyalkanoates, Bioethanol, Bacterial cellulose, etc.), and extraction of bioactive compounds having antimicrobial and antibiofilm agents. I am experienced in cultivation of both bacteria and fungi in large-scale reactors and membrane bioreactors. My research also focuses on both enhancement biometabolite production from industrial waste and improvement bioremoval of toxic compounds by using the Vitreoscilla Hemoglobin gene.
