Traineeship and studies abroad

Exchange studies

Study abroad at one of our partner universities as part of your study programme. Several study programmes at the University of Borås allow students to spend a semester abroad as an exchange student. Students conducting exchange studies within Europe often have an opportunity to receive a scholarship. Read more about exchange studies. The following semesters are available for exchange studies:

  •  Fashion Design (BA) - semester 4
  •  Textile Design (BA) - semester 4

Field studies

Minor Field Studies (MFS) is a scholarship programme funded by SIDA for students to collect data for their thesis in a developing country. The field study is conducted over 8 weeks during the semester the students' thesis or degree project is written. Read more about MFS (in Swedish only).

Students admitted to a study programme at the Swedish School of Textiles also have the opportunity to conduct a field study as a complement to their programme. More information on field studies for students studying Textile (in Swedish only).

Traineeship abroad

There is also the opportunity to do a traineeship abroad in Europe with a grant from the Erasmus+ programme. The traineeship can be done as part of a course, during the summer break, or after completed studies (provided the student has not applied for a degree). Read more about Erasmus+ traineeship.
