The Swedish School of Library and Information Science is Sweden’s most extensive research environment in the subject and conducts research and education with a strong professional connection and international character. Our researchers take on the digital challenges of our time, mostly from the perspectives of the humanities and social sciences.

Priority research areas

She emphasizes the importance of studying the smallest components of plastics

Juliana Aristéia de Lima, researcher at RISE and a new Associate Professor of Polymer Technology at the University of Borås, wants to connect the research groups in polymer technology and sustainable development at RISE with the research groups at the university, and give the university’s students a new perspective. On May 23, she will give a lecture about her research on microplastics.

Xianyi Zeng: I want to change the entire textile industry in Europe

Ingvar Carlsson: “Libraries are a cornerstone of democratic society”

Ingvar Carlsson has been appointed Honorary Doctor of Library and Information Science at the University of Borås. He is as forthright and determined today as when he held the post of Prime Minister of Sweden, and in his new role, he highlights the importance of protecting democracy, equality, freedom of expression, and the rule of law.

New professor praised by students for creative teaching

David Eriksson was the student who had a knack for learning but didn't quite fit in at school. After graduating from high school, he absolutely didn't want to pursue further studies and instead worked three jobs at once. Today, he's Professor of Industrial Engineering and Management and the recipient of the university's Pedagogical Prize.
