The board has specific responsibility for all research and education that rests on an artistic basis at the University of Borås. The board's areas of responsibility are regulated in the board's organisational and decision-making procedure. The members of KFU consist of four teacher representatives at the University of Borås and one external member. In addition to these members, students have the right to be represented with two (2) members. The external member and the teacher representatives are appointed by election  for a period of three years.
