Informatics and IT

Informatics and IT is an ever-evolving discipline in our modern society. Studying the field at the University of Borås gives you the opportunity to specialize further in areas such as programming and software development, allowing you to acquire sought-after skills in the IT industry. We currently offer courses in English on Bachelor's level.

Courses are primarily open to undergraduate students studying Informatics, IT, Computer Science, or equivalent at their home institution. Many of our courses have specific entry requirements that are specified in the corresponding syllabus. Please read these carefully before applying.

Each semester is divided into two study periods. For full time studies (30 ECTS total), please select two courses in each period to avoid scheduling conflicts.

This is the second semester of the 2026-2027 academic calendar. All new exchange students should attend the Orientation Days held in mid-January.

Period 3

Webdesign (pdf), 7,5 ECTS

In period 3, students are welcome to take the course Swedish Language and Culture 7,5 ECTS, or classes in Business Administration, as long as they meet the necessary requirements.

Period 4

Suggested course combination: Systems Science Route - 15 ECTS

Database Management (pdf), 7.5 ECTS
UX and interaction design (pdf) 7,5 ECTS
- Exchange students take these courses alongside our students in Systems Science.

Suggested course combination: Software Development Route - 15 ECTS

DevOps: Continuous Development, Integration and Delivery (pdf) 7,5 ECTS
Applied Machine Learning (pdf), 7,5 ECTS
- Exchange students take these courses alongside our Software Development students. These courses require some prior knowledge in programming and database technology. Please read the syllabus to learn more about the prerequisites.

This is the first semester of the 2026/2027 academic year. All new exchange students should attend the Orientation Days 27-28 August 2026.

Exchange students attending this package will take courses alongside our students in Computer and Systems Science.
