University accommodation at Simonsland

The University of Borås offers a limited number of furnished student apartments for exchange students at Simonsland, a student apartment complex located near the university. These apartments are owned by the local housing agency Bostäder i Borås but are managed through the university.

Student accommodation at Simonsland

Simonsland consists of three connected buildings, with all university-provided apartments for exchange students located at Viskastrandsgatan 4. At Simonsland, each student has their own apartment with a private kitchenette and bathroom. Apartments are spread across different floors, so your neighbours may be international or Swedish students. Thanks to its central location and high standards, Simonsland has long been a favourite among our international students.

Furnishing

Each apartment features laminated flooring, white-painted walls, and is fully furnished: single bed with mattress, desk and chair, armchair, coffee table, bookshelf, floor lamp, and desk lamp. A blanket, pillow, kitchen utensils, and a dining set for four are also included, along with cleaning supplies and a vacuum cleaner.

Apartment size

Apartment sizes range from 20 to 28 square meters. Most are for single occupancy, but two larger units can accommodate two people if requested in advance (extra beds are for shared occupancy only, not for guests).

Monthly rent

The rents for 2027 are:
20 m² - 5714 SEK/month
24 m² - 6033 SEK/month
28 m² - 6340 SEK/month

Rent includes all utilities except electricity, which is billed separately based on usage.

Rental period

16 January 2027 – 30 June 2027. Please note that rent is charged from 16 January, even if you would arrive later.

Move-in is possible from 15 January 2027 15.00.

How to apply

If you would like to apply for student accommodation at Simonsland, simply select the accommodation option in SoleMove when completing your application.

If you are coming to Borås with a friend or partner who is also participating in an exchange and you would like to share accommodation, please indicate this in your application. This will help us take your preference into consideration when allocating accommodation.

Accommodation offer

Please note that we have a limited number of apartments. Following the admission letter, students will be informed by 18 November whether or not they have been offered an apartment.

If you receive an accommodation offer from us, you must confirm your acceptance by 08:00 (CEST) on 24 November. If we do not hear back from you by then, we will offer the accommodation to the next student in line.
