Master Programme in Resource Recovery - Biotechnology and Bioeconomy
This unique Master's programme is for those who want to take on the challenge of the problems posed by the huge amounts of waste generated by human activity. This programme is for those who want to learn more about green solutions for waste management and how it is possible to convert waste and by-products into sustainable products, as well as for those who like biology and biotechnology and want to know how these are translated into practice in industry and trade.
In this Master's programme, you will build on your skills in analysing and solving problems related to the transport, processing, and transformation of by-products into useful products using biological methods, and you will learn how to develop related processes and business enterprises.
The first term provides an overview of the current status and future trends in the field. Business and methodological knowledge such as life cycle analysis are also included. The second term focuses on biotechnology, bioeconomy, and bioprocesses. The programme ends with a one-year degree project in which you will immerse yourself further in the area which interests you. The degree project can be carried out within the industry or in collaboration with our researchers and doctoral students at the Swedish Centre for Resource Recovery at the University of Borås.
This educational programme prepares you for professional roles as a researcher, engineer, or manager, but it also makes you a global community builder with the knowledge necessary to take on challenges, not solely in those areas that are directly linked to resource recovery, biotechnology, and bioeconomics.
