School libraries for safety and inclusion

The focus of the development work revolves around areas such as democracy, values in education, equal rights, and inclusion. Together, participants and researchers explore and develop practices aimed at supporting the development of a democratic society and creating safe and inclusive school libraries for all students.
The study includes one research group with approximately 10 participants from compulsory schools and one research group with approximately 15 participants from upper secondary schools. The groups include public and private schools as well as special needs education.
Grounded in the theory of practice architectures (TPA) and using a practice-oriented, action research–inspired approach, the study aims to contribute in-depth knowledge about the professional practices of school librarians and teacher librarians development of the democratic mission of school libraries.
