The Swedish Research Council have gathered information on their webpage about support initiatives for researchers from Ukraine. 

The University of Borås is a member of Scholars at Risk, SAR, an international network promoting academic freedom and protecting scholars at risk. Read more about SAR’s work during the war in Ukraine on the employee website. 

The Association of Swedish Higher Education Institutions has also created a webpage with information regarding support for researchers from Ukraine (in Swedish only).

Euraxess Sweden has gathered useful information regarding Sweden for researchers from Ukraine.

Funding calls related to the war

Here are the specific calls for researchers and teachers that we have been made aware of; there may be more:

• Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions
• Baltic University Programme, Uppsala University
• ALLEA European Fund for Displaced Scientists

Funding calls can also be found on the webpage of Grants and Innovation Office.

The European Union’s member states have agreed to activate the Temporary Protection Directive. This means that individuals from Ukraine can be granted a temporary residence permit in the EU for at least one year. Students covered by the EU’s Temporary Protection Directive do not pay tuition fees in Sweden.

Due to the current situation in the world and the unfolding events in Ukraine, we would like to remind you to be especially vigilant in regards to possible cyberattacks. In such times, there is a greatly increased risk of cyberattacks and there have been reports of increased activity already.

As an employee at the university, you have received information about a security training via email where we remind you of the most important thing to remember and how you can help reduce the risk of serious consequences. It is very important right now that we all are especially vigilant when it comes to password phishing and other forms of fraud.
