Recording/filming in teaching situations
At the University of Borås, the general rule is that students are not permitted to make audio recordings, take photographs, make video recordings, or similar during lectures, seminars, or other teaching situations at the university.
However, the individual teacher has the right to expressly permit audio recordings, photography, filming, etc. at the teaching session in question.
Before granting permission, the teacher must always ensure that the other people present do not find the audio recording, filming, etc. intrusive.
The individual teacher determines the conditions that apply in the situation in question.
Students with disabilities have the right, where necessary, to make audio recordings, take photographs, make video recordings, etc. of lectures without the teacher’s express permission. The student must notify the teacher concerned of this need well in advance of the teaching session and present documentation confirming the need for such assistive measures (issued by an authorised member of staff at the university).
Permission to make audio recordings, take photographs, make video recordings, etc. does not entitle the student or any other person responsible for such a recording to distribute it, make it available, or otherwise use it for any purpose other than their own private use.
