Notification of Interest

You are welcome to submit a notification of interest for exchange studies

In order to apply for exchange studies, you must first fill out a notification of interest. The deadline is 15 February for exchange studies taking place during the coming autumn semester and 15 June for next spring semester. The form will be available one month before the deadline and students are notified 5 weeks after the deadline. The notification of interest is not binding. Late notifications may be reviewed depending on available resources and exchange places. If interested, please feel welcome to contact the International Office at exchange@hb.se.

The form for students who can apply for exchange studies taking place during spring semester 2025 will open 15 May.

Partner universities in destination countries/areas that the Swedish Ministry of Foreign Affairs actively advise against travel to at the time of processing will be removed from consideration and your notification of interest will instead be processed based on the remaining specified partner universities. Read more about the current travel advisories on the homepage for Ministry of Foreign Affairs (in Swedish).

As a student, you are responsible for ensuring that all partner universities stated in your notification of interest are relevant and viable for your study programme. In case of questions, contact the International Coordinator for your field of study.

Before you submit your notification of interest, you should read the entry requirements and selection criteria.

Documents to submit

In addition to the notification of interest, you must also submit additional documents where applicable by e-mail:

  • In order for your notification of interest to be complete, you must write a motivation letter in English. The letter should be addressed to the International Office and explain how exchange studies at the chosen partner university will contribute to your academic studies and future career. You should only write one letter regardless the number of partner universities. The motivation letter should be limited to 1000 words.
  • For students studying Fashion Design BA and Textile Design BA: A portfolio demonstrating your three best works/projects from your first year as a student. The portfolio should consist of maximum of 6 pages and be attached to the same e-mail as your motivation letter.
  • If applicable, any certificate of student engagement within the Student Union must be signed by a board member of Studentkåren i Borås and be attached to the same e-mail as your motivation letter.

All documents are to be sent to exchange@hb.se as PDF documents before the deadline. The e-mail should have the subject line "Notification of Interest [first name] [family name] [study programme]", e.g. Notification of Interest Anna Andersson Fashion Design.
