Nicklas Salomonson is professor in Business Administration specialising in Digital retail at the University of Borås. His research concerns areas such as transformative service research, consumer vulnerability, embodied interaction, customer misbehaviour/incivility, value co-creation/co-destruction, technology in services, and sustainable consumption. His research has been published in journals such as Industrial Marketing Management, Marketing Theory, Journal of Marketing Management, Journal of Macromarketing, Journal of Retailing and Consumer Services, Journal of Creating Value, Journal of Business Communication, and Journal of Cleaner Production

He currently focuses on transformative service research and in particular on enabling and disabling marketplaces, i.e. what enables and disables consumers from being active members of marketplaces.

His research projects have, for example, been financed by the Swedish Research Council (VR), the Swedish Research Council for Health, Working Life and Welfare (Forte), the Knowledge Foundation and the Swedish Retail and Wholesale Council.
