I am a Professor of Caring Science at the University of Borås, Faculty of Caring Science, Work Life and Social Welfare. I am a nurse with a specialist education in intensive care and a Master's degree in nursing pedagogy. I have work experience from, among other things, cardiology, both outpatient and cardiac intensive care, as well as experience in intensive care.

My research is in the area the Human Perspective in Care and in the subject of Caring Science. I have a strong interest in developing the theories of Caring Science with support from Caring Science research and existentialism. My research concerns both caring and learning in different contexts and in the research knowledge developed about:

  • Existential issues in caring contexts
  • Method development on a lifeworld theoretical basis
  • Intertwining caring and learning

I am an associate editor of the journal Scandinavian Journal of Caring Science and am also an active member and researcher in the European Academy of Caring Science (EACS) that has been granted research funding from the European Commission (2019-2023) – the research project is called INNOVATEDIGNITY. The aim of the project is to contribute to the development of sustainable and dignified care for older people in Europe.
